The BON membership meets every month on the third Tuesday at noon hour on ZOOM. This month only we will be meeting at 1pm. Please invite your colleagues and others who may be interested.
At this month’s Fireside Chat we are thrilled to have BON member Maureen Trask, and also Brenda Richer facilitate on Tuesday March 21, 2023 at 1:00. They will be leading a discussion on the topic of Coping with a Missing Person and how Peer Support can help.
Here are the Bios of our Chat Facilitators:
Brenda Richer is a Facilitator for Self Help & Peer Support, a service of CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association). Brenda received her Peer Support certification through Peer Support Canada in September 2019. Brenda has been providing peer support to those experiencing a mental health and/or addiction issue in both group and one-to-one settings for over 11 years.
Maureen Trask (BON Member) was confronted with the most challenging event of her life when her son, Daniel, went missing on Nov. 3, 2011. After 3.5 years of painstaking searches, partial remains of Daniel were found, ending her journey of uncertainty (Ambiguous Loss, Dr. Pauline Boss). Her journey continues as a Volunteer Facilitator and Advocate for those impacted by Missing. As well, she continues to raise awareness, deliver training, and lead legislative change at the local, provincial, federal, and international levels.
